Leadership Qualities - the Defining Qualities of efficient Direction

Leadership Qualities - the Defining Qualities of efficient Direction

Let me lay it out certainly.

1. Modest

2. Critical

3.

4. Empathetic

5. Disciplined

6. Great communicators (they communicate the agenda certainly and efficiently)

7. Honest and unprejudiced

8. Make the most of the potential of their people by empowering them

9. Encircle themselves with folks smarter than they are

10.

11. Acknowledge that they're infallible and acknowledge errors when they make them

12. Have a burning desire to make a difference . . . a favorable difference

This list is by no means exhaustive.

But no matter how long the list of leadership qualities is, I can tell you honestly that without three of these leadership qualities you will necessarily fail as a leader.

What are these four uncompromising qualities of effective leadership?

1. Surround yourself with people smarter than you

2. Acknowledge errors when you make people. Take corrective actions, learn from people, and continue on

3. Make the most of the capacity of your people and

4. Be selfless. Serve your people as well as your organization. Abhor private gain.

The desire for personal gain will colour your judgment and Management communication will lead you to the path of failure.

To illustrate, consider what occurred recently in the business where I work.

I work for an international beverage company with origins in the United Kingdom as I write this. My institution's cocoa based beverage drink has about 50% share of the country's entire cocoa based beverage market. Certainly, it turned into a big business.

Some two years back, the finance director and my institution's CEO were fired. Why?

Over statement of company accounts.

The business was not doing nicely. Instead of telling his bosses so, the CEO . . . with the collaboration of the finance director . . . tempered with the accounts to make the company appear good and thus, keep his place as CEO. This situation went on for approximately three consecutive years before the fraud was discovered by external auditors.

And shareholders are told they should not anticipate dividends for the next couple of years.

The CEO proved to be a young gifted fellow who had been CEO of the company for over a decade.

What went wrong? What took CEO down?

1. The desire for personal gain, greater recognition, and greater visibility.

2. Arrogance. He refused to admit he was wrong and wind down production to match demand and marketplace opportunities (He had a vision to make the business a billion dollar company by year 2010. Job marathon).

When the market was not growing as quickly as production was growing, he refused to slow down generation. The factories kept on producing at break neck speed along with the business kept on acquiring more warehouses to keep what was created that could not be accommodated by the market)

3. Managers who stood by and watched while the life investment of investors went down the drain

However good you now are, no matter how sensible you might be, regardless how many awards you've won, you may fail finally if you are not a selfless leader.

Remember all the leadership qualities discussed previously. But whatever you do, remember the four leadership qualities that are most significant.

You can be a great leader. Effective leadership is within your reach. It starts by realizing leadership qualities you want essential for successful direction.

these attributes may be learned. And . . . This really is your big chance.
